Out and about...

iD Fashion Week Dunedin

Karen Hamilton (360 Degree Events) and Stephanie Rumble (Flair Image) recently travelled as Media to Dunedin’s highly regarded iD Fashion Week. Mainland Press invited Karen to share her experience in the fashion editorial pages. Click here for Karen’s article about Canterbury’s fashion contribution to the show.

Karen and Stephanie enjoyed three days of fashion events in the city meeting international fashion reporter Hilary Alexander and fellow Emerging Designer Judges; Nicholas Huxley, leading Australian fashion authority and Dunedin’s own Tanya Carlson.

TV3’s John Campbell was the MC for the iconic event and Karen enjoyed a catch-up with John backstage before the show while they both had their hair done by Redken stylists.

Both highly regarded for their work in running fashion events Karen and Stephanie were inspired by the production of the Emerging Designers Awards and the hero event held at the Dunedin Railway Station where fabulous clothes are modelled on the Southern Hemisphere’s longest runway.

If you enjoy getting outdoors and being active this is a must attend event. 2012 will be the inaugural event for Auckland while the Christchurch event is now in it's third year and has grown to include over 4,000 square metres of exhibits plus check out these new features to keep visitors entertained:

The Recreation Expo Do-Athlon - This is a parent & child team event is based on the motto 'You can DO it!'
The Ultimate Camp Cooking Competition - demonstrations, competitions and celebrities; you will be amazed by the gourmet meals prepared on a camp cooker!
The Entertainment Stage - this will be home to The Ultimate Camp Cooking Competition, guest speakers, live music and more...
The Assault Course - participation is the name of the game... climb over and crawl under obstacles as you make your way around the course.
Lucky Dip Competition - visitors to the Expo will be given the chance to draw from the lucky dip barrel at the event entrance to see if they are a winner. The opportunity for instant reward will be an important part of driving traffic to exhibitor stands over the weekend.
